A Clinton woman has been sentenced after recently pleading no contest to two felony drug charges and three misdemeanor charges.

39-year-old April Dawn Rivers had been arrested in March of 2016 on a warrant for selling a controlled, dangerous substance out of her home and has been in and out of court on a number of other charges over the years. Her bonds in March totaled over $122-thousand dollars and represented just two different drug related cases.

Her latest charges were possession of Methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia as well as maintaining a dwelling where a CDS is kept and stem from the execution of a search warrant on a home in the 1700 block of Littell Avenue on or around February 24, 2016.

Her charge for maintaining a place for keeping and selling drugs was later dismissed.

According to a probable cause affidavit, a man found and arrested in her home allegedly told investigators that Rivers provides him with illegal drugs and allows him to get high in one of her bedrooms. He described the bedroom as being the one where marijuana, meth and drug paraphernalia was found during the search with several items belonging to Rivers and that a bag of meth that was found in a northeast bedroom was what she had most recently purchased.

Her recent Custer County Court appearance also included a plea of no contest to possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor after former conviction, two or more from a March, 2015 incident, also in Custer County.

Rivers received two five year sentences on each of the two felonies with all of her imprisonment suspended pursuant to her conditions of probation which include supervision by the Department of Corrections and her completion of the Oklahoma County ReMerge Program.

According to its website, the ReMerge program is a comprehensive female diversion program designed to transform pregnant women and mothers facing incarceration into productive citizens.
