A Clinton woman with a list of prior drug related charges has had a preliminary hearing conference set after she allegedly broke into a home and assaulted her boyfriend while in possession of methamphetamine.
According to court records, 36-year-old Sally Booze of Clinton, was arrested September 30th after Clinton police responded to a call for domestic disturbance at a residence on Santa Fe Drive. Upon arrival, officers found Booze in the driveway of the residence, holding a pocket knife and pacing back and forth. After successfully talking Booze into dropping the knife, she told police that she was upset at her boyfriend for giving her a sexual transmitted disease.
The probable cause affidavit stated that while patting down Booze, for other weapons, officers found what was believed to be a methamphetamine pipe and a small clear bag of what was later field tested to be methamphetamine. Booze was arrested and booked into the Clinton City Jail where she was charged with 1st degree burglary, assault and battery, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Later officers interviewed the boyfriend at the home. According to court documents the man said Booze allegedly came to the home the day before her arrest and started beating on the doors and windows. She then allegedly kicked the back door open and entered Thompson’s home. The victim said he and Booze argued for a few hours before she left. On the day of Booze’s arrest, the boyfriend said she came to his house again and allegedly started beating on the windows and doors. This time, Booze allegedly forced her way through the back patio doors of the home, chased the man out of the house before eventually striking and injuring the victim’s eye. After investigating the home, officers were able to find signs of a forced entry.
This isn’t Booze’s first run in with the law. According to court documents she has had two possession charges levied against her in the past, along with a public intoxication charge. She plead guilty to all charges.
A preliminary hearing conference has been scheduled for November 15th.
