Inattentive driving sent an Arnett woman to an Oklahoma City hospital in critical condition.
35-year-old Amber Marie Smith has been recuperating in OU Medical Center with internal and external injuries arriving there in critical condition following the Monday evening accident in Ellis County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, about 5:30 pm, Smith was driving a 2009 Dodge Caravan south on State Highway 46 about three miles south of Gage when she failed to negotiate a curve.
The report says her vehicle departed the roadway, went into a broad slide and finally rolled three times coming to rest on the south side of the roadway, landing on all four wheels.
Four juveniles between 8 and 12 were in the mini-van, all from Arnett, were taken to a local hospital and were treated and released for their injuries.
The condition of the driver at the time of the accident is reported to be apparently normal.
The Caravan was equipped with seat belts and all were in use except for the driver.
