A dead man whose body was recently found in an abandoned home on Indian land near Carnegie has been identified.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation says the man was 32-year-old Byron Tongkeamah, Junior. He was found dead from multiple stab wounds about two weeks ago. A woman, also suffering multiple stab wounds, had also been with him, but she is expected to recover. Her name has not been released by the FBI, the investigatory agency handling the case because the crime occurred on Indian land.
Tongkeama, who may have been a member of an Indian gang, reportedly had a long criminal history that included arrests for assault with a deadly weapon and for robbery. He’d also been a suspect in the death of a woman in October of last year at Carnegie, 30-year-old Cindy Rose Kaudlekaule, though Tongkeama was never officially charged with the crime. Her body was found a couple miles east of Carnegie by Caddo County workers while mowing.
It’s believed Tongkeama and the woman were living in the vacant house near Carnegie where his body was found.
