Alcohol was the cause of a wreck that sent the Cheyenne driver of a pickup to an Oklahoma City hospital in serious condition.

The driver, 20-year-old Tanner Leach is reported to be in fair condition today in OU Medical Center with internal and arm injuries. The condition of the two passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash, a 16-year-old female and a 16-year-old male, were not identified nor whether they sustained any injuries.

According to the report, Leach was driving a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 on County Road 940 about 10:40 pm on Friday night when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle departed the roadway to the left. Leach over corrected and departed the roadway to the right striking a bridge. The pickup then went over a creek and rolled once and caught fire.

The accident happened about 3.5 miles north east of Cheyenne and a mile east of US Highway 283 in Roger Mills County.

Only the male passenger was wearing a seat belt.
