Weatherford High School Students are scoring among the best ACT scores in the state of Oklahoma.
According to School Superintendent Chad Wilson, Weatherford students taking the ACT test are averaging almost two points higher than the state average.
Wilson says the state ACT average is 19.4 while Weatherford students are averaging 21.1 on the test.
But, the goal was – actually – getting MORE students to take the test, not so much scoring higher on the test. That was a bonus.
Last year, the most recent year that students were examined, 130 out of 135 took the ACT. The year before, 84 students tested.
He says the secret to testing so well begins with the students, then the parents and also his great staff.
Weatherford students topped the state average in every subject taken in the ACT last year.
