Personal Injury Accident Holcomb

An Elk City man is reported to be in good condition following an early morning wreck in Kingfisher County.

52-year-old Russell J. Holcomb, the driver of a 2015 Peterbilt semi, was first transported by LIFE EMS to Okeene Municipal Hospital before being transferred to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he was admitted with internal and external injuries.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Holcomb was traveling eastbound on State Highway 51 when he crossed the centerline and departed the roadway. The vehicle traveled east in a ditch, striking an embankment and a roadside delineator before going airborne.

The report says the cause of the accident that happened about 3:06 am approximately six miles east of Okeene is listed as inattention.

Holcomb was wearing a seatbelt.
