An Elk City man was arrested and charged recently after being accused of strangling a woman.
According to a probable cause affidavit, police were dispatched to a home in the 3200 block of West 7th Street in Elk City for a report of a physical domestic incident in progress. When the officers arrived they found a woman who would later tell police that the man inside the home, 53-year-old T.C. Perry Junior, had allegedly become physical with her during an argument. She stated that he had allegedly put his hands around her neck during the altercation, and had grabbed the woman’s cell phone when she attempted to call 911. The woman said that she would eventually dial 911 through a land line.
Officers noted in the court document that the woman had visible injuries on her neck.
Perry was arrested and booked into the Elk City Jail. He has been charged with domestic assault and battery by strangulation and disrupt, prevent, or interrupting an emergency phone call.
His first court appearance is scheduled for May 18.
