Another false claim that Washita County has had it’s first case of COVID-19.

Earlier today the Oklahoma State Department of Health reported that Burns Flat in Washita County had their first confirmed case. However, according to the Town of Burns Flat’s Facebook page, this was a mistake made by the reporting parties for the CDC.

Minimal change occurred throughout the rest of the area. Greer County has had an additional case reported bringing the cumulative total to 64. Jackson County remains with 13, Custer with 10, Kiowa with 4 and Beckham still with 2 cumulative cases of the virus.

Harmon and Roger Mills Counties are still without a case.

Statewide, Oklahoma has seen an increase of 104 confirmed cases, bringing the cumulative count to 3,121. Oklahoma has an additional 9 deaths due to COVID-19, 3 occurred in the past 24 hours, bringing the state’s total to 188.

A weekly summary provided by state health officials indicates that there are now only 135 hospitalizations due to confirmed cases of COVID-19. A dramatic decrease in numbers.

Officials also say 1,961 Oklahomans have recovered from COVID-19.

Locally in Texas, Wheeler County officials are reporting 2 additional cases in the panhandle county, bringing the total to 3. Hemphill County is still reporting just one case.
