An Oklahoma City man charged with a number of felonies tied with obtaining controlled substances by fraud is due back in Beckham County District Court on Monday.

40-year-old Jameson Dwight Perkins was in court last week for a preliminary hearing in front of Associate District Judge Michelle Roper for four counts of computer fraud by use of a computer, two counts of maintaining an interest with intent to violate and another four counts of unlawful creation of a prescription as well as unlawful use of a communication facility.

He was jailed following a multiple agency investigation spearheaded by the District Two Drug Task Force.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on September 12, law enforcement officers became aware of a man trying to obtain a controlled substance by fraudulent means in Jackson County. This man, working for authorities as a criminal informant, later agreed to text the suspect, Perkins, in order to obtain another fraudulent prescription. Through a series of actions and negotiations, Perkins was arrested and charged in Beckham County. He allegedly admitted to possessing a methamphetamine pipe.

Allegedly found with Perkins was a laptop, three fraudulent prescriptions, computer paper used for fraudulent prescriptions and two pieces of foil with marks thought to be heroin.

Perkins allegedly told investigators that he ordered the paper for the prescriptions off eBay.

Perkins’ bond was originally set at a quarter-of-a-million dollars though his attorney’s have requested it be reduced. Until then, he remains in the Beckham County Detention Facility.

Perkins was recently released from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for similar charges, computer fraud and obtaining a CDS by forgery.

His preliminary hearing conference is set for 9 am Monday in District Court.
