The charge of murder in the first degree – deliberate intend was filed Friday morning against 63-year-old Terry Randel Drury of Blair in the killing death of his son in law.
According to a probable cause affidavit, following the shooting, Drury drove to the Jackson County Sheriff’s office and told a dispatcher that he’d shot Jeff Garrison in the head. The dispatcher said Drury had what he thought to be a rifle and asked Drury to put the gun down.
Jeffrey Mark Garrison, the 53-year-old dead man and also of Blair, was later found with a single gunshot wound to the head.
Jackson County Sheriff Roger LeVick says Drury walked into the Sheriff’s department Tuesday evening around 6:30 and confessed to killing his son-in-law in the county just east of Blair.
A check of online court records shows three protective orders have been filed in district court against Garrison over the last eight years, all later dismissed, including one in August, 2015 by the daughter of the man in custody now, allegedly, responsible for Garrison’s death.
LeVick says Drury is currently in custody. His initial appearance is set for Thursday in Altus.
