A 16-year-old has been arrested for the recent armed robbery of a Dill City convenience store.
According to Washita County Sheriff Roger Reeve, the juvenile – whose name is being withheld due to his age – acted alone in the incident, but the case is still being investigated.
According to Reeve, the Washita County Sheriff’s office received a call about 10 pm on Saturday night, April 9 that the Dill City Quick Shop, Ensey’s, had been robbed by a lone male who had entered the store and pointed a hand gun at the owner and demanded money. Reeve said in a press release that the gunman demanded more money than the owner had in the register and began pushing the owner toward the office area.
As the owner’s children came out of the office, the oldest boy ran out the front door of the store followed by the gunman. The report says that once outside, however, the gunman ran off without taking any of the money from the store.
The sheriff believes’ that another person was waiting for the gunman in a vehicle just east of the store.
Surveillance videos are being reviewed.
The 16-year-old is being held in a state juvenile detention center until he’s scheduled to appear in front of a judge.
