A Thomas man died at a local hospital after being hit by a passing motorist on a Custer County roadway.
36-year-old Kasey Kliewer died at Weatherford Regional Hospital from massive injuries sustained in the collision.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Kliewer had stopped to remove a battery that was laying in the roadway when he was struck by a 2011 Chevrolet four-door driven by 21-year-old Brooke Miller of Fay.
The report says Miller’s condition at the time of the accident was apparently normal. She was uninjured in the wreck and the cause of the accident is listed as pedestrian in the roadway.
The fatality collision occurred at 6:55 am this morning about seven miles north of Weatherford at the junction of State Highway 54 and County Road 0950.
