A slow speed chase on Beckham County roadways has lead to the arrest of a Sayre man being held in the county jail on a $75-thousand dollar bond.
28-year-old Dustin Lee Marino who is also known as Dustin Pittman has a lengthy criminal arrest record and is in the Beckham County Detention Facility in Sayre waiting for another court date. This time on criminal felonies. He’s charged with second degree burglary, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, unauthorized use of a vehicle and malicious injury to property under $1-thousand dollars.
Beckham County deputies believe Moreno stole a vehicle from the Sayre McDonald’s and burglarized a home. When he was caught, he’d lead the sheriff’s deputy on a several mile chase down a county road at speeds that never exceeded 45 miles-per-hour. It’s believe he’d just broken into his unoccupied residence located in the 18000 area of East 1180 Road.
He was identified in the pickup as he was fleeing law enforcement. Once Moreno stopped the pickup he was driving, he was ordered out of the vehicle at gun point and ordered to the ground.
He was seen by a witness with the pickup backed up to the residence that had the door kicked in. When he was caught, he had belongings in the back of the vehicle and officers identified mail and other miscellaneous items from the residence. When the witness began following Mareno, Marino turned his pickup around and began driving toward the witness running the witness off the road.
The owner of the pickup found stripes on the pickup that weren’t there earlier. It’s believed that Mareno may have painted a black shoe polish stripe on the hood and tailgate.
Mareno is due in court for a preliminary hearing conference on September 24.
