Custer County’s Agricultural Agent has been recognized nationally as the state’s top Ag extension agent.
Ron Wright from Butler received a couple of service awards recently honoring him for his hard work and his varied experience as one of Oklahoma’s outstanding OSU extension educators.
The distinguished service awards are from the Oklahoma Association of Extension Agents and the National Association and were based on his career accomplishments. Only one person from each state is picked.
Wright grew up in Butler and began his extension career in Kiowa County in 1991. He moved to Custer County where he assumed the county agent’s job in Arapaho in 1994.
Wright graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science. He additionally holds a Master’s Degree from OSU in Agricultural Education.
The award Wright picked up two weeks ago at the National Association of County Agricultural Agents meeting in Chattanooga, Tennessee is for Outstanding Ag Agent of 2018.
