A Clinton man has been arrested in Elk City with what law enforcement officers believe is several items that were stolen.
According to a press release from the Beckham County Sheriff’s office, 27-year-old Blake Andrew Perkins was found recently with several items that allegedly belonged to a resident who lives in the 900 block of South Van Buren.
The victim contacted law enforcement late on the morning on Wednesday of last week after finding Perkins inside his shop. The resident asked Perkins what he was doing there and Perkins allegedly replied that he needed to use the bathroom.
The owner then called 9-1-1. Perkins reportedly ran south, but an officer with the Elk City Police Department caught him.
Perkins was reported to have food and drill bits from the victim’s garage and he later told police that two pool sticks, found in his possession, were from his brother. But, the victim told officials that the sticks belonged to the victim’s daughter and that they had been inside a pickup on the victim’s property, according to reports.
In the press release, Beckham County Sheriff Scott Jay thanked the Elk City Police Department for their help in the case.
Jay said, “This is another example of the positive outcomes we can achieve when agencies cooperate and work together to keep the peace and enforce the law.”
No charge or court date has been set for Perkins according to online court records.
