An Erick man is in the county jail on a $250-thousand dollar bond on drug charges and is due in court in about 2 weeks for a conference with the judge and his attorney.

According to a probable cause affidavit, 56-year-old Johnny Rowdy Balough allegedly admitted during his arrest that methamphetamine and marijuana was inside his home located in the 200 block of West Plum in Erick.

Balough was arrested during the execution of a multi-agency, “no-knock” search of the house in which he was residing on December 28. Investigators with the District 2 Task Force in conjunction with the Beckham County Sheriff’s Department, the Erick police Department and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics along with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol suspected Balough of dealing in drugs.

He also allegedly told law enforcement that he was dealing in drugs to support his own drug habit.

During the search of the home, police allegedly found over 10 grams of methamphetamine, a police scanner and two surveillance systems and cameras.

He has been charged with possession of a controlled, dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a CDS, unlawful use of a police radio and use of surveillance equipment for the purpose of avoiding detection.

He’s due in court on February 12 for a conference and again on the 22nd for a preliminary hearing.
