Two of three people from Erick have pleaded guilty on drug and various other charges while a third is in treatment.
They were all charged in September on the felonies following the execution of a search warrant on two homes in Erick just off South Cedar Avenue just north of Erick Elementary School.
54-year-old Michael John Briggs was sentenced last Thursday to 20 years in the Department of Corrections with 10 years to serve and the balance suspended on a charge of possession of a controlled, dangerous substance with intent to distribute. Briggs received another 10 years on the charge of possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction and will serve it concurrently. Two other charges, child neglect and using a camera during a felony were dismissed.
Arrested with Briggs were 53-year-old Victoria Jean Parker and 34-year-old Lana G. Perry who all lived in the same house in Erick.
Parker pleaded guilty in December to child neglect and possession of a controlled substance. She received deferred sentences on both felony counts.
Perry is due back in court on April 12 for a treatment review. She was charged with child neglect, possession of a CDS with intent and using a camera during a felony.
The probable cause affidavit says, at the time of the arrests, four children were witnesses ages four months to five years old.
Following theraid on the homes, Erick Police Chief Patrick Strange said agents had seized a large amount of ammunition, weapons and narcotics. He says once the search warrants were in hand, his department was able to get several agencies involved due to knowledge of threats and of weapons being at the residence. Strange says the arrests followed several months of investigation as law enforcement collected information and evidence in order to secure and execute a search warrant.
