Texas Troopers remain busy along the Carson County section of Interstate 40 on the Texas side with a number of drug arrests.

Over $1.4 million dollars in marijuana and an additional $311-thousand dollars in cash has been confiscated in the last week from vehicles passing through the Western Oklahoma and Eastern Texas Panhandle region of the interstate. Four people, one in each vehicle, have been arrested in the four traffic stops from Virginia, Arizona and Los Angeles and the latest from Minnesota.

That particular stretch of highway near Conway, Texas sees more than its fair share of drug arrests. The latest arrest was last Thursday when a Department of Public Safety trooper pulled over a 2017 Ford Expedition traveling east for a traffic violation.

During the course of the traffic stop, the trooper discovered multiple plastic-wrapped packages of marijuana in the rear cargo area. The drugs are valued about approximately $850-thousand dollars.

Arrested was 36-year-old Koua Lee of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota who was charged with possession of marijuana and booked into the Carson County Jail.

The latest round of drugs set to pass through Western Oklahoma and Easter Texas were believed to be bound for Oklahoma coming from California.
