By Paragon News Director Paul Joseph –

Emergency responders around the state of Oklahoma are gearing up for the Earth, Wind and Fire Exercise coming up next week as regional responders gather in Clinton for their part of the exercise.

Michael Galloway, Custer County’s Emergency Management Director says he’s hosting the three counties of Washita, Beckham and Custer County and planning this area’s disaster – or fake disaster – involvement.

Galloway says there’s actually two parts to the exercise that – overall – consists of several disasters.

Emergency management responders in Clinton will be involved in – somewhat – of a local exercise but it fits in with the statewide exercise.

The Earth, Wind and Fire Exercise gets underway on Tuesday beginning at 9 am and runs until Wednesday afternoon at the Frisco Center in Clinton.

Galloway says if a person is not at the Frisco Center during the time, one won’t have any idea that over 100 emergency responders are diligently working to save lives – or save simulated lives.

Galloway says he’s expecting about 120 emergency responders to be involved with the exercise at the Frisco Center.
