By Paragon News Director Paul Joseph –

A weekend pipeline explosion south of Canute did little damage and hurt no one, but the explosion rocked the surrounding area.

According to reports, the explosion happened after some repair work had been performed on the area a day earlier, possibly a failure in a welded connection. The explosion happened about 7-3/4 miles south of Canute on Canute Road.

No one was in the area at the time of the explosion about 12:20 Saturday morning and area fire crews attended to the blaze until Enable Midstream Partners employees arrived around 5 am and took over clean up. The fire was believed to be fully extinguished about 9 am on Saturday morning.

One home on the Washita County Road, Number 2080 was evacuated due to the explosion, but they were allowed back home following the incident.

No damage was reported other than a tree and a lot of dirt being displaced.
