A California man has been arrested in Western Oklahoma on a $1-million-dollar bail bond warrant for lewd acts with a minor.
He was arrested in Elk City Wednesday after being charged in Kern County, California last week on three counts of lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14.
Elk City Police Chief Eddie Holland says his department was recently notified by California authorities that the Kern County District Attorney’s office in Bakersfield had issued a warrant for 55-year-old Roy Michael Kirk on lewd acts with a child.
According to a probable cause affidavit out of Kern County, California, two minors under the age of ten years allege that Kirk sexually molested them in California. One minor also alleged that Kirk showed child pornography and a video of himself.
The court document says one of the minors was interviewed by a forensic child abuse interviewer who had the opinion that the victim was telling the truth.
Felony charges were filed in Kern County on October 10 after being reported to the Tehachapi Police Department in June.
Kirk is in the Beckham County Detention Center awaiting extradition to California.
