One juvenile has been recuperating in an Oklahoma City hospital while two other juveniles have been treated and released from a Western Oklahoma hospital following a one vehicle accident on an area highway.
The 15-year-old male juvenile who was injured was reported to be in stable condition at the time he arrived at Children’s Hospital in OKC.
In all, three male juveniles were riding in a 2002 Chevrolet pickup driven by 18-year-old Trenton Wilson when the accident occurred about 4:30 am Wednesday morning in Washita County.
All are from Carnegie.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, speeding contributed to the accident when Wilson lost control of the pickup due to a trailer. The vehicle ran off the roadway to the right side where it struck a ditch and rolled one complete turn.
Wilson refused treatment at the scene, however a 12-year-old and a 15-year-old were treated and released at Weatherford Regional Hospital.
The OHP report says only the driver and one passenger was wearing a seat belt. The 15-year-old passenger recuperating at Children’s hospital was not wearing a seat belt.
The accident happened on State Highway 152 at County Road 2430 about 17 miles east of Cordell.
