A Clinton business man is scheduled to appear at the Clinton City Council meeting on Tuesday night to present his plans on remodeling a building he owns on West Gary Boulevard.

At their meeting in early July, council members heard from Walt Schumacher regarding what the city deemed a dilapidated building, one in which they were considering condemning. They gave him seven weeks to bring them a plan on his remodeling ideas for the building.

He appeared before the Clinton City Council to answer questions regarding why he failed to respond to two earlier communications from the city and additionally failed to attend a city-called abatement hearing on a dilapidated building he owns on Gary Boulevard.

Council members gave him time to develop a plan to repair the former gas station and then bring his ideas back to the council for their approval.

Schumacher, at the time, was running for a seat on the city council, but later withdrew from the race.

The council meets Tuesday night at 5:30 at Clinton City Hall.
