Authorities in Roger Mills County are involved in investigating a homicide in or near Hammon that occurred last Wednesday night.
It’s been rumored that a residence was additionally burned at the same time of the murder.
Roger Mills County Sheriff Darren Atha says the crime occurred in Roger Mills County on tribal Indian land so he’s unable to release any information at this time.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs, the BIA, along with the FBI are handling the case at this point.
Atha says he’s expecting those two agencies to release information on the murder and when they do, he’ll share it.
Both his sheriff’s office and the Custer county Sheriff’s office along with the FBI and the BIA are all actively involved in the incident that is under BIA jurisdiction.
