A Clinton woman is out on bond awaiting her next court date after being charged with embezzling approximately $10-thousand dollars from her employer.
42-year-old Twyla June Williams bonded out of the Custer County Jail last week on a $5-thousand dollar bond.
She’d been wanted on a warrant for her arrest in the disappearance of three deposits that were to have been made by Williams.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Williams allegedly admitted to failing to make the deposits from the Dollar General Store in Clinton where she worked. She admitted taking the money for herself.
The deposits were in the amounts of approximately $36-hundred dollars, $37-hundred dollars and another one of of $37-hundred dollars.
An investigator with Dollar General says the deposits were to have been made during June 4 and July 19 of this year. The affidavit says the investigator provided to Clinton Police a written statement from Williams admitting to the crime.
She’s due in court on October 13 for a preliminary hearing conference with her attorney and the judge.
