A wreck in Blaine County, caused by sleepiness, sent a 30-year-old man to an Oklahoma City hospital.
Michael Carl Bollinger of Talihina is recuperating in Integris Baptist Medical Center following the early Sunday morning accident.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Bollinger was traveling north on State Highway 8 about four miles south of Hitchcock about 4:45 am when he inadvertently fell asleep. The 2001 Ford Ranger he was driving left the roadway to the right where it then reentered the roadway, but went into a broad slide and rolled a complete turn coming to rest back on it’s wheels.
He was taken by a private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Watonga before being later transferred to Integris Baptist where he arrived in stable condition suffering from a neck injury.
The cause of the accident is listed as inattention.
Bollinger was wearing a seat-belt.
