The network television show, America’s Got Talent, showcases talented individuals from around the country, but Oklahoma has talent, too. And lots of it.

Oklahoma’s Got Talent, Oklahoma’s version of the popular TV show, is happening this weekend in Western Oklahoma as 12-year-old Darci Lynne Farmer and Friends will be appearing in a fundraiser for a Christian School in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda.

Farmer is from Oklahoma City and recently was aw arded “First Round Golden Buzzer Winner on the show, America’s Got Talent.

She’s lending her talent along with five other talented young women at the Leedy School Auditorium this coming Saturday night to raise money for Harvest Hope Foundation.

Kelley Boatman, a native of Leedy, but currently living in Norman is excited to bring, what she is calling, quality entertainment to Western Oklahoma.

She says the show, called Kids Helping Kids, is one way she can raise money to support a school that she organized and got off the ground in 2007 with 22 students. She boasts that there are now almost 270 young people enrolled in her school in Uganda.

Boatman says the auditorium holds 566 people and she’d like to have it packed out for the 7 pm performance. Tickets are $20 for general admission and $45 for VIP tickets. She says these tickets will get a person dinner and a meet and greet.

Also performing at Kids Helping Kids Saturday night is Kamryn Lea, Kylie Paige and a 13-year-old Country/Western recording artist, Maddox Ross.

Tickets are available through the website, www.eventbrite.com. That’s event, b-r-i-t-e dot com.
