Devon Energy with facilities and personnel in Western Oklahoma is ensuring that emergency responders get what they need in order to help others in need.
The company office in Weatherford is spearheading a grant process in the dissemination of a $10-thousand dollar grant.
Monty Bruce, a senior production superintendent with Devon says his company is seeking applications in order to support emergency responders anywhere in Western Oklahoma. He says they’ll pick the organization that has the greatest need.
Bruce and other company officials announced the grant opportunity during a recent luncheon for area fire and sheriff’s departments held at Lucille’s Roadhouse in Weatherford.
Additionally, Devon footed the bill for the meals while also providing cash donations to 20 departments, thanking them for their work.
Bruce says its the right thing to do, plus it’s a good thing to do.
Bruce says applications are due back to Devon on Wednesday, June 7 and it’s an easy application process.
Bruce says applications should be sent to Devon’s manager of community relations, Christina Rehkop.
