Several Oklahoma voter deadlines are approaching.
Friday is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in next month’s annual school elections.
Roger Mills County Election Board Secretary Jana Madduz says persons who are US citizens, residents of Oklahoma and at least 18-year-old may appy to become registered voters and must register on or before this Friday to vote in the February 14 school elections.
The elections will be held in Roger Mills County as well as but not limited to Sweetwater, Sayre, Hammon, Burns Flat Dill City as well as for seats that are up for vote for the Western Technology Center.
Washita County Election Board Secretary Leah Jones says that registration applications that are postmarked after Friday will still be accepted and processed, however, the applications won’t be approved until after the election on the 14th.

According to the charter for the City of Elk City, candidates may file for several seats on the city commission including the position of mayor. Candidate filing began on January 2 and will continue until 5 pm on Monday, February 6.
Seats available for the April 4 election are commissioners for Wards 2 and 3 and for mayor. Each of the commission seats are four-year terms while the position of mayor is a two-year term.
Seats are also open in Sayre and Erick. The filing period opens up on Monday, February 6 and closes on Wednesday, February 8.
In Sayre, place two is open in Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4. They’re all four year terms.
In Erick, the positions available are city clerk/treasurer, and council seats for Wards 2, 3 and 4 with the Ward 3 seat coming with a 2-year unexpired term.
Municipal election seats in Clinton and Weatherford won’t come up for election until later this year.
