A Cordell man is dead following a one vehicle accident in Custer County.
39-year-old James Edward Scott died at the scene of the accident that happened about 1:20 Tuesday morning north of Arapaho.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Scott was driving a 2015 Freightliner eastbound on Custer County Road 860 when his rig ran off the roadway to the right and rolled over on its side striking a tree.
He was finally freed from his rig just before 3 am by fire department personnel from both Custer City and Thomas.
The report says the accident remains under investigation, but that Scott was traveling at an unsafe speed for road conditions.
The accident happened about 14-miles north of Arapaho then about two miles west on county road 860.
Scott was no wearing a seatbelt.
