An Elk City man is in jail on a $30-thousand dollar bond after being arrested on drug charges.
According to an Elk City Police Department report, 34-year-old Johnny Ray Tucker was found flushing something down the toilet when police were called to his home. However, police allegedly found a blue container in a nearby trash can with a white crystal like substance along with a lid with the same white substance. When tested, investigators received a positive result for Methamphetamine.
Officers were initially called for a possible domestic dispute at a home in the 600 block of Nichols in Elk City. While enroute, police dispatch was advised that the line was left open and they could hear yelling in the background.
When the officer approached the location, he observed the front door to be cracked open and saw someone look outside, but immediately close the door. When it was opened, a woman told police, “He’s flushing it.”
Police found Tucker in the bathroom who told police he’d flushed some pills, however, they observed Tucker acting strange, swaying back and forth. The woman allegedly told officers that Tucker had a small blue container with Meth inside of it. She said Tucker had told her prior to the officer’s arrival that if she called police, he’d flush his meth and the police wouldn’t believe her.
When checked against Google Mapping on the internet, officers observed that the house was approximately 600 feet from a local school.
He’s been charged with possession of a CDS in the presence of a minor or within 1-thousand feet of a school or park.
In 2008, Tucker pled guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
He’s scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Beckham County District Court on December 20 at 9 am.
