By Paul Joseph, Paragon Communications News Director –

Steel for the new building at the new campus at Corn Bible Academy in Clinton should be going up very soon.

School Superintendent Dr. Greg Giles says the weather delayed the construction for a time, but it’s been full steam ahead for the last few weeks.

The academy started construction of a new building and a new campus as they relocate the 113-year-old school from Corn to Clinton.

A new 43,000-square-foot, $7-million-dollar building and campus is being built on a 40-acre site immediately north of the Western Oklahoma Christian School at the south edge of Clinton outside the city limits.

The Christ-centered school in Corn has an enrollment of approximately 100 students and school leaders are hoping to double that over the next 10 years and expect the transition to Clinton and a new school and campus could expedite that.

CBA leaders hope that 80 students now enrolled in seventh through 12th grade will grow quickly to 200, which is what the new building is designed and could comfortably handle 250..

Giles says the construction of the new building that broke ground last April is on track.

The original thinking is that the building would be open for the fall of ’17 semester, but Giles says that may happen, but it may not.

Giles says fundraising is ongoing and the end is in sight.

The new building will also house a 5-thousand square foot tornado shelter.
