By Paul Joseph, Paragon News Director –

SWOSU-Sayre is teaming up again with Great Plains Regional Medical Center to offer college classes in Elk City.

The Sayre campus’ 2016 fall schedule includes three classes that will be taught by Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre instructors Tuesday and Thursday mornings at GPRMC.

Each class lasts one hour and 15 minutes and will meet in Meeting Room A, next to the hospital’s restaurant, The Grill @ 1705.

Bill Swartwood will teach College Algebra at 8 a.m. Judy Haught will teach English Composition II at 9:30 a.m., and Landry Brewer will teach World History at 11 a.m.

SWOSU-Sayre campus Dean Sherron Manning believes that education beyond high school is necessary – more than ever – to qualify for skilled jobs reminding prospective students that with the recent economic downturn, now is a great time to re-tool and prepare for a rewarding, stable career.

She says taking classes to Elk City is just the latest effort to meet the needs of students who may not be able to attend classes at Sayre.

Financial aid is also available for all part-time and full-time students who qualify. Enrollment for the fall semester is underway.

Classes begin in August and last until December.
