Three people, including an 11-year-old boy, were hospitalized recently after being involved in two separate accidents in western Oklahoma.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the first occurred Monday at 12:44pm on US-283 5 miles north of Cheyenne when 34-year-old Tiffany Malson of Durham attempted to avoid a 2015 Peterbilt semi that was pulling out onto the highway from a private drive.
OHP said Malson would strike a 1998 Peterbilt with her 2004 Chevy Avalanche head on.
Troopers said as a result, Malson was admitted into Roger Mills Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne in fair condition with head injuries. A passenger in her vehicle, an 11-year-old boy also from Durham was also admitted into the same hospital in fair condition with head and trunk internal injuries.
The drivers of both semis were uninjured in the mishap.
The second accident occurred early Tuesday morning, just before 3:30am on Interstate 40 at mile marker 83, just east of Weatherford when Troopers say 37-year-old Justin L. Lewis of Geronimo tried to make an adjustment to equipment on the 2017 Harley Davidson Motorcycle he was driving and lost control.
As a result the bike departed the road tot he left and overturned.
OHP said Lewis was admitted into OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in fair condition with head and leg injuries.
