A Clinton man was arrested recently on complaints of felony possession of child pornography and felony violation of the Oklahoma computer crimes act.
According to a Facebook post made by the Clinton Police Department, 20-year-old Nathan Alba was arrested Monday after police had been investigating the matter since November 2021. The post stated that a Clinton detective reviewed a cyber tip generated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Officials said that in November of 2020, a social media platform had notified NCMEC of a user who had uploaded and distributed child exploitation material. NCMEC then forwarded the information to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force who later assigned the case to the Clinton Police Department.
During the course of the investigation, the detective was able to identify Alba as the possible suspect. The post stated that Alba was interviewed and allegedly admitted to possessing and distributing child pornography. Subsequently Alba was arrested without incident and remains incarcerated with no bail until his arraignment.
As of press time, formal charges have not been filed against Alba.
This is a developing story.
