On the heels of President Trump’s announcement that the drug chloroquine could possibly treat those infected with COVID-19, a local doctor appears to back this claim.
Dr. John Perkins says he’s familiar with the drug, saying it has multiple uses. He says it is possible the drug could treat people who’ve contracted the virus.
Dr. Perkins did say that if anyone is experience COVID-19 symptoms, to call their physician first and to follow their instructions on how to be evaluated and treated.
Local pharmacists Colby Brewster says he’s familiar with the drug as well, saying he has plenty in stock, but does not know for how long.
When it comes to preventative measures, Dr. Treva Graham says wearing a mask is not very effective.
Dr. Graham says she does have a limited amount of testing kits in her office.
