Winter weather is moving into the region and with it comes the potential of hazardous driving conditions and the possibility of power outages this evening and early tomorrow morning.

According to a spokesman from the National Weather Service in Norman, the winter storm is anticipated to bring rain, freezing rain, sleet, ice, and snow.

The National Weather Service says areas of western Oklahoma could see ice accumulations up to a quarter inch.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation Division 5 Engineer Brent Almquist says crews in the area have already been treating bridges in anticipation of this storm.

Public Service Company of Oklahoma External Affairs Manager Mike Hixson says PSO crews are also standing by in case of power outages due to the storm.

Currently a winter weather advisory is in affect for the area until 6 a.m. tomorrow.
