A man and woman are in the Custer County Jail after police allegedly find them with Methamphetamine and Marijuana in small packages that police believe were for sale on the street.
31-year-old Ashley Nicole Yelloweagle of Weatherford and 30-year-old Ruben Garza of Merced, California are each jailed on two counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance including possession with intent to distribute and other charges.
According to a probable cause affidavit, last week, the two were traveling down a Weatherford street in a vehicle with an out-dated temporary tag.
Yelloweagle gave officers a name that didn’t return as a known person and the Weatherford officer decided to call for a canine unit with the drug dog, Melee.
Following a search of the 2003 Infinity, officers allegedly found suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and pills.
Garza told police that the drugs weren’t his and the woman, later identified as Yelloweagle told police that the vehicle wasn’t hers and she didn’t know the drugs were in there. She added that she gave the officers the wrong name because she had warrants out for her arrest.
The green, leafy substance later tested positive for marijuana, 10.1 ounces and the white, crystal substance found in three bags, tested positive for meth, in bags weighing about 1 gram, .8 grams and 8.0 grams.
Yelloweagle, whose bonds total $50-thousand dollars – was additionally charged with obstruction and Garza – held on a $20-thousand dollar bond – with driving with a suspended license.
They’re both due in court for a preliminary hearing on December 20.
