New technology that is able to track unexcused absentees and able to notify parents is being utilized by Clinton High School.
CHS Principal Paula Harp says the new technology, a program through the student information system called Infinite Campus, went live last Monday once students returned from fall break. She says the system will notify parents of an absent student through email, text and voice mail.
Harp says there wasn’t necessarily a spike in absent or tardy students in the past that prompted school officials to implement the system.
Harp says the system can do more than just notify parents of tardy students.
Harp says in the first week, school officials are seeing results, saying parents are contacting the school if they receive an alert about their child.
