An Edmond man is in good condition at an Oklahoma City hospital following a wreck in Western Oklahoma.
65-year-old Paul Rodney Wright is in OU Medical Center with head injuries after a mid-day, Thursday accident in Dewey County.
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Wright was heading east on US Highway 270 in a 2019 Volvo semi when he ran off the roadway to the right for an unknown reason. His rig struck a guard rail, but continued off the roadway where it then struck a culvert and finally turned on its driver’s side where it came to rest.
The cause of the accident is listed as inattention.
The wreck happened about 11:11, Thursday, three miles south of State Highway 31, about 13 miles southeast of Seiling.
The rig was equipped with seat belts, but it’s unknown if Wright was wearing one.
