He feels as though he’s been part of the process in turning around state revenues and with 60 to 70 new State Representatives, the incumbent District 55 Oklahoma State Representative feels that leadership and experience, more than ever, is needed at the Capitol.
Coming up on 10 years in the Oklahoma House when this term is completed, Todd Russ says he wants to finish what he’s started.
Russ, who resides in Cordell, says it’s important to keep government accountable to the people and to approach decisions in a fair, honest, businesslike manner so that the citizens of this great state have necessary services without increasing taxes.
Besides accountability, he says it’s important to make government work for the people and to look out for the interests of hard-working Oklahomans who are paying taxes to fund a government that works for them, not against them.
He says experience matters, especially now.
He is chairman of the House Banking and Financial Services Committee. He also serves on several other key committees: Appropriations and Budget, Insurance, Administrative Rules, and the Joint Committee on Appropriations and Budget.
Russ has been married for 33 years to Khristy, a 20-year veteran public school teacher and they have three grown children. The Russ’ are members of New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Cordell.
Last night, Paragon Communications profiled Russ’ Democratic opponent Dennis Dugger of Hammon.
The election is Tuesday. Polls are open from 7 to 7.
