Voters in Roger Mills and Beckham Counties who want to have absentee ballots mail to them for the February 9 Sayre School Board Annual Election should apply now. Only a week remains before the deadline.

Roger Mills County Election board Secretary Jana Maddux says although the county election board can accept applications for absentee ballots until 5 pm on Wednesday, February 3, she urges voters who want to vote by absentee to apply now.

Maddux explains that at least two mail transactions must be made and that they both take time. The “voted upon” ballots must be in the hands of the appropriate election board office staff members by 7 pm on Election Day in order to be counted.

Maddux has also announced that the polling place for Roger Mills County Precinct 301 is being moved to the Reydon Senior Citizens building beginning with the March 1, Presidential Preferential Primary. That center is located in the building formerly home to a grocery store on Main Street in Reydon.

She says voters in Precinct 301 will soon be receiving a new Voter ID Card in the mail with the location of the new polling place listed on it prior to the election.
