Personal Injury Accident Dunlap

An Elk City man was reported to be in critical condition in an Oklahoma City hospital after wrecking his motorcycle while fleeing a Beckham County Deputy.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 40-year-old Troy Leon Dunlap, Junior was taken to OU Medical Center following the wreck that happened about 5:45 am this morning northwest of Carter in Beckham County.

Dunlap is suffering from head and internal injuries.

The OHP report says Dunlap was heading north on County Road 1922 approaching the T-intersection of County Road 1210. Dunlap attempted a turn to the west on his 2001 Yamaha motorcycle, but took it too fast. The motorcycle departed the roadway to the right and struck an embankment.

The cause of the collision is listed as speed.

The accident happened about three miles west and 3 miles north of Carter.

Dunlap was not wearing a helmet.
