A Thomas woman remains in critical condition in an Oklahoma City hospital following an early Monday morning wreck on a state highway in Custer County.

48-year-old Sabrina Yoder was air transported to OU Medical Center this morning following the wreck on State Highway 33 at county road 840.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Yoder was traveling south on the highway when she apparently fell asleep at the wheel, departing the roadway to the right striking a tree. She was pinned for about 40 minutes before being freed by the Thomas Fire Department.

The accident happened about 2:16 am four miles east of Thomas.

The condition of the driver and the cause of the collision is listed as “sleepy.”
