At approximately 11:43 a.m., a trooper stopped a 2007 Toyota Avalon for a traffic violation on Interstate 40 near Conway, in Carson County.  During the traffic stop, the officer conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly discovered several vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in a large bag inside the trunk. The marijuana weighed over 25 pounds.

The driver, identified as 59-year-old Tadeusz Mierzwa of Decatur, Georgia was arrested, booked into the Carson County jail and charged with felony possession of marijuana.

The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Sacramento to Decatur, Georgia.
