The weather is expected to be perfect for the Weatherford, 1st annual Porkapalooza, a fun-filled contest to see who cooks the best barbeque.
Porkapalooza Chair, Jared Jones says they’ve got a number of great teams from a multi-state area that are going to fill the air this weekend with great meat and barbeque aromas.
He says the event is part Chamber and part fund-raiser as the cookers are helping to raise money for CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates as well as providing a chamber event.
Jones says this is a first for the Weatherford area and that attendees to the event are in for a treat. He says he’s familiar with the great atmosphere that a cook-off provides, but is unsure if others know how fun and festive the event is.
The event is Friday and Saturday as both days host special events.
The Kansas City Barbeque Society and Oklahoma Barbeque Society sanctioned event will be held on a beautiful pre-spring weekend, guaranteed to have great weather.
The cook-off will be held just west of First National Bank in downtown Weatherford in the parking lot next to Jerry’s Restaurant.
