Cordell’s water is back and good.
After being under a precautionary boil advisory since Saturday night after the major line break in their water system, test results from the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality says the water’s safe.
City Administrator JC Moser lifted the boil advisory and issued the all clear yesterday afternoon saying the bacteria tests came back negative and the water’s good to drink.
Residents were without water Saturday evening for about five hours, however, after two, four-inch lines broke about 5 pm. Moser says a major valve broke apart and it had to be cut apart so a new T-valve could be replaced.
Yet, following the repair, city leaders thought there was a possibility that bacteria could have entered the system during the break and thus issued the boil advisory Saturday night about 11 pm.
