The Weatherford Mayor has proclaimed (tomorrow) (today) as SWOSU #GivingTuesday in Weatherford.
Mayor Mike Brown, who graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1978, says his city is proud to partner with SWOSU on the Giving Tuesday competition with Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva and wants to beat NWOSU in raising the most money.
Brown admits, however, that in the end everyone is a winner by providing scholarships for students.
Until next Tuesday, December 5, SWOSU is competing with Northwestern Oklahoma State University in a contest to see which institution can raise the most funds for student scholarships and grants. Those interested in helping SWOSU win the competition by providing scholarship money can do so online at SWOSUGivingTuesday.com.
Interested contributors may also call the SWOSU Foundation office and give by credit card or, by mailing a check to the foundation located on the Weatherford campus.
The SWOSU Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU. Located on the Weatherford campus in the historic Burton House, the Foundation currently stewards over $22 million in assets for the benefit of SWOSU.
