Oscar Ron Savage is free today on a $100-thousand dollar bond after being charged with solicitation of a minor.
The Elk City man turned himself in last week and bonded out of the Beckham County Detention Center on Friday, according to jail officials.
In addition to the solicitation of a minor, obscene material charge, Savage is additionally charged with prepare, distribute, exhibit obscene material and is due in court for his initial appearance on Tuesday at 1:30.
Savage, a former funeral home owner and licensed funeral director and a man that had taught in Elk City Public School system, was also active in his church where he ran the audio/visual equipment.
A local 17-year-old boy went to his parents in July of 2015 and allegedly told them the guy he worked for, Ron Savage had taken nude photographs of him.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the photograph sessions had been going on for number of days, even weeks and that the young man was allegedly being paid for each session – anywhere from $80 to $90 a session. The boy told investigators that Savage would sell the pictures and that he and Savage were to split the money. Multiple pictures were allegedly taken from a variety of angles.
The local 17-year-old young man said there were a number of other “boy toys” as he said Savage referred to them. Elk City detectives interviewed a number of the alleged sexual partners to build a case against Savage.
The investigation of the case took months as the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation office in Edmond scoured two computers found in Savage’s back yard office that he referred to as the Lyceum – a desk top and an Apple.
Also confiscated by authorities were two Western Digital external hard drives and a Transcend compact flash card.
One of the young men interviewed told investigators that Savage had hundreds of videos and hundreds of photos, many of which Savage allegedly took with his black camera with a large lens.
Interviews with at least ten young males were included in the probable cause affidavit, though their ages weren’t provided in the court record.
The court issued a warrant for his arrest last Tuesday and Savage reportedly turned himself into authorities on Thursday.
